The funeral of Donald Davis, 23, of near Shannondale who died at Culver Hospital on Wed. of injuries received in an automobile accident on Aug 24 near Beckville, was held from the Providence Church at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. Forrest Graves of New Ross offic. and burial was made in Pisgah Cemetery Pall bearers were Devon McDonald, George Thrasher; Charles Mikesell; Adrian McClain; Robert Pennock and Roy Ferguson. Flowers bearers were Mrs. Ruth Pennock; Mrs. Gladys Thrasher; Mrs. Pearl McDonald; Mrs. Bonnie Lane; Mrs Geraldine Dowell and Mrs. Bertha Miles. Singers were Mrs. Esther Troth and Albert Profitt who sang "Sweet Bye & Bye," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In the Land Where We'll Never Grow Old" Naomi Newhold was accompanist at the organ.
